Kylian Mbappé scored a superb hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, giving Jose Mourinho a perfect start to his return home.

                                                                        

After guiding Madrid to a 2-1 victory over Espanyol in his first match back, Mourinho secured his second consecutive win with another impressive performance.

Real Madrid had to work hard against a determined Real Sociedad side, but Mbappé eventually broke the deadlock five minutes before half-time. His excellent first touch created space inside the box before he fired a powerful finish past the goalkeeper.

Real Sociedad quickly responded, equalising just four minutes later when a deflected effort fell perfectly for Luka Sučić, who made no mistake from close range.

Madrid regained control after the break, with Jude Bellingham playing a key role in two important goals. He combined brilliantly with Mbappé to set up the French forward for his second of the night before his persistence inside the penalty area helped create Vinícius Júnior's tap-in.

Mbappé completed his hat-trick late in the match, racing onto a clever pass from Vinícius before calmly chipping the goalkeeper to seal a convincing victory.

Mourinho praised Mbappé after the game, describing him as a historic player and highlighting his hunger to create his own legacy at Real Madrid. Mourinho Receives Huge Bernabéu Welcome

Mourinho's return to the Santiago Bernabéu was met with a huge reception from Real Madrid supporters. His name was loudly cheered when announced before kick-off, reflecting the optimism surrounding his second spell at the club.

The Portuguese manager previously enjoyed major success during his first tenure, and expectations are high once again. With two victories from his opening two matches, Mourinho has made an encouraging start.

This performance was considerably more convincing than the win over Espanyol, particularly after half-time when Madrid took control of the match.

Mourinho remained composed for much of the game but occasionally showed his trademark passion, including a protest toward the fourth official.

After the final whistle, he repeatedly used the word "tranquilo" — meaning calm — to describe his mood and the atmosphere within the squad.

                                                                                

However, Madrid's biggest challenges are still ahead. Their upcoming clash with Atlético Madrid on 20 September is widely viewed as Mourinho's first major test of his new era at the club.
